We’re excited to announce the addition of Lenny Jachimowicz to our Board of Directors. Jachimowicz joins us after an impressive 45-year career at Marriott International, one of the world’s largest hotel companies. Retiring as vice president, engineering and guest experience, he brings valuable industry knowledge to our team.
Jachimowicz started his career at Marriott in 1972 as a maintenance helper. He has since held positions as director of engineering, division director of the Courtyard brand, vice president for engineering North America, and more. Jachimowicz’s experience in the maintenance field, while later expanding into the corporate field, or as he’s coined “from the boiler room to the board room,” will be essential as we grow our team and refine our product. His knowledge will serve as an important asset, connecting the dots between people, maintenance, and energy.
With the release of our proprietary software in 2016, we’ve taken traditionally siloed sections of building operations (people, maintenance, and energy) and combined them into one consolidated platform. As we work to become a disrupter in the market, we’re helping companies create in-depth and efficient portfolios. The addition of Jachimowicz to our team will help guide our efforts in the hospitality sector.
“There’s a big gap in the hospitality industry in terms of groups having a systemic approach across a portfolio, how they’re going to execute maintenance [in their buildings], and how they plan on improving productivity within their teams,” said Jachimowicz. “Flywheel has a great product that can help solve this gap. I’m excited to join the team and help them bring their product to market.”
We’re excited to have such a well-respected industry thought leader join our team and look forward to his contributions.
Our CEO, Steve Gossett Jr., stated, “People like to talk about someone being comfortable from the boiler room to the board room. In his 45-year career, Lenny went from building technician all the way to leading operations for the largest hotel chain in the world. He is not just a guy deep in knowledge and experience; he’s also someone who has led multiple massive programs to adopt new technologies to bring significant change to the hospitality industry. He really is a unicorn – and we’re ecstatic to have him.”
